Record Masaza Cup winners Gomba has parted ways with head coach Frank Mulindwa following successive defeats.

While Gomba’s management stated that they had parted ways with Mulindwa, the coach claims he resigned due to interference from top officials, unpaid arrears and allowances, and other factors.

“I have resigned from my role as head coach of Gomba Ssaza after a number of factors” Mulindwa, who missed Wednesday’s training session, cited these issues as the reason for his resignation.

Mukasa, the new head coach, will work alongside William Kyeswa as his assistant, while Richard Makumbi takes charge as the head of the technical team, replacing Edward Golola.

During Mulindwa’s tenure, Gomba suffered defeats against Kyaggwe (2-0) and Ssingo (4-0). Mukasa now faces an immediate challenge to turn things around, with just three days to prepare the team for their away match against Mawogola on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Gomba, the record champion of the Airtel Masaza cup with five trophies, last won the title in 2021 and lost to Bulemeezi in last year’s final.
