Two-time Buganda Masaza Cup winners Buddu have advanced to their seventh final after defeating Kyaddondo 4-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

Buddu secured a crucial 3-1 away win in the first leg, and a 1-1 draw at home was enough to see them through to the final.

Hudson Mbalire’s second-half goal in the return fixture at Kitovu canceled out Ndifuna Ismail’s opener for Kyaddondo, confirming Buddu’s place in the showdown.

Buddu will face Kyaggwe on November 2nd at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. This will be Buddu’s fourth final appearance, having previously competed in 2015, 2016, and 2018

Kyaggwe, meanwhile, secured their first-ever final after a 2-1 aggregate win over Buweekula in the other semi-final.

A goalless draw in the second leg was enough for Kyaggwe, who had won the first leg at home 2-1. The two teams had already met twice in the group stage, with both encounters ending in draws.

Kyaggwe’s road to the final included a surprise 2-1 aggregate victory over two-time winners Ssingo in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Buweekula, aiming for their third final appearance after reaching the 2012 and 2022 finals, came into the tournament as strong contenders but will have to settle for a third-place playoff against Kyaddondo.

For Kyaggwe, under coach David Mutono, this marks a historic achievement as they prepare to battle Buddu, the 2016 and 2021 champions, in their first-ever final on November 2nd at Namboole Stadium.
