Ssaza Bulemeezi Football Club will begin their Masaza Cup title defense on Saturday, facing off against Bululii at the Kasana Luwero Grounds. The team is poised for a tough challenge as they aim to retain the title they won last season.

Bulemeezi FC is in a challenging group, dubbed the “group of death,” alongside Kyadondo, Buddu, Butambala, and Buluuli.

With seven finals and three titles under their belt, Bulemeezi FC is no stranger to success in the competition. However, defending the Masaza Cup has never been achieved before, and coach Paul Nkata is aware of the daunting task ahead. “We’re aware that teams are gunning for us, but we won’t be intimidated,” Nkata said. “We’ll stand tall and fight to retain our title.”

The group has a rich history, with Kyadondo winning the title in 2008, Buddu in 2016 and 2021, and Bulemeezi in 2012, 2019, and 2023. This season, teams like Kyaggwe, Buddu, Mawokota, Buwekula, and Kyadondo are also ones to watch, having shown impressive form in friendly games.
