Buweekula led 1-0 at the Mawogola Ssaza Grounds through a goal from Kalema Jimmy, 13 minutes to the end of the game is when problems emerged in numerous sections of the crowd as fans evaded the pitch.

There we altercations in Mukono and similar incidences Masaka where Bambatala technical teach where disgruntled with Buddu’s late winner. These actions caused some matches to be paused for quite some time and the one between Mawogola and Buweekula suspended.

The Secretary of the Masaza Cup Organizing Committee (MCOC) Hon. Patrick Nsanja condemned the acts and urged the fans to refrain from violence if they want their teams to avoid being penalized.

“Whoever is found responsible for instigating these acts will be punished and subsequently their team penalized” Patrick Nsanja said.

He went on to say “the rule is clear, a game that isn’t concluded properly, it’s three points and three goals. Whoever falls victim it will be their team to lose or gain. We ask everyone to always respect the game especially when it is played on the pitch and to tolerate the decisions the referee makes” whose decission can be reviewed by the Organizing Committee too.

“A lot of people love the Masaza football, people invested a lot in it through paying game day stadium entry fees and others sponsoring their teams. People out of passion love success. And if they don’t get that victory, they get very hurt. But we want to tell all the fans out there, let’s respect the game of football. Let us uphold one principal of discipline as guided by the Katikkiro. Discipline in the players, fans and those officiating the game for us to enjoy the sport.”
