In a nail-biting finale, Buddu Ssaza edged Kyaggwe 1-0 to claim their third Buganda Masaza Football championship title
The decisive goal came against the run of play in the 22nd minute, courtesy of Mike Walaga’s header off captain Pius Ssebulime’s precise cross.
Kyaggwe, making their debut in the final, started briskly with David Mugalu squandering a clear chance in the 12th minute. Steven Nyalimo’s setup went begging as Mugalu blasted the ball over.
Buddu’s breakthrough caught Kyaggwe off guard, but the Bukunjja Warriors refused to yield.

In the second half as desperation crept in, Kyaggwe’s shots sailed wide or were thwarted by Buddu’s resilient defense. Mike Kayondo’s long-range effort in the 52nd minute forced goalkeeper Peter Katongole to dive spectacularly. Hakim Lule’s free header in the 63rd minute was agonizingly close.
Kyaggwe’s persistence was nearly rewarded when Steven Nyalimo struck the woodwork in the 61st minute, courtesy of Isaac Ofoyrwoth’s clever chip.
Buddu’s victory marks their third Masaza Cup title, solidifying their status among Buganda’s football elite.
