Sunday’s netball fixtures at Buhinga Playground were nothing short of spectacular, with one side recording a historic century.

In Group B, Burahya kicked off their campaign in emphatic style with a crushing 91-13 victory over Kibale. However, their momentum was checked later in the day as they played out a rare 39-39 draw against Kitagwenda.

The highlight of the weekend, however, belonged to Kitagwenda, who bounced back from the draw to obliterate Kibale 101-5 in a staggering display of shooting accuracy.

The action in Group A on Friday was equally one-sided. Mwenge South secured their spot in the next round by defeating Kyaka 38-32 before demolishing Bunyangabu 110-5. Meanwhile, Kyaka comfortably crushed Bunyangabu with a 125-7 victory.

Qualification Update: Both Mwenge South (Group A) and Kitagwenda (Group B) have officially secured their places in the next round. They will now wait to see who emerges from Group C, with the decisive fixtures scheduled for Friday, 24th July 2026.

Group A – Friday at Humura: In a thrilling opener on Friday, Kyaka played out a pulsating 3-3 draw with Bunyangabu mounting a remarkable second-half comeback from 2-0 down to earn a share of the points.

Kyaka took control early, with Fred Lopez scoring the opener in the 24th minute of the first half. Kyaka added another to go 2-0 up, but Bunyangabu refused to surrender. In a stunning turnaround, Bunyangabu fought back to level the game in the second half, with goals from Bbumba Fazil and a brace from Lukwago Salami. Group B – Sunday at Buhinga: All eyes turned to Buhinga Stadium on Sunday, where Kitagwenda County got their 2026 Tooro Kingdom MTN Masaza Cup campaign off to a winning start with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over hosts Burahya County.

Playing their opening away fixture, Kitagwenda secured all three points thanks to a first-half strike from Hamis Samiru, who scored the county's first goal of the ongoing fifth edition of the tournament. The goal sent the visiting fans into raptures and put Kitagwenda in the driving seat.

Burahya had a golden opportunity to level the score before halftime after being awarded a penalty. However, Muhurizi Goodman stepped up but failed to convert from the spot, leaving the hosts trailing and the home crowd in disbelief.

Kitagwenda held on to their slender lead throughout a tense second half, with their defense standing firm against relentless Burahya pressure. The visitors registered their first win of the competition, moving to the top of Group B with three points.
