Buddu have three Masaza Cup titles under their belt. So how did they happen?

1. Buddu 1-1 Gomba (Buddu won 6-5 on Penalties) – 2016

One of the most important days when Buddu finally had their name written in the history of Masaza cup winners after edging past Gomba in the finals played at Mandela National stadium.

Buddu and Gomba played to a 1-1 draw in the mandatory 90 minutes before the former edged Gomba 6-4 to win their maiden Masaza cup.

Lawrence Ssonko gave the five time champions Gomba the lead in the 24th minute heading home from David Mudali’s well curled corner kick but the lead was short lived when Robert Mukongotya levelled matters for Buddu twelve minutes later.

2. Buweekula 0-2 Buddu – 2021

To achieve their second title, Buddu overcame a hard fighting Buwekula side 2-0 in the closely contest final at a fully filled St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende – Wakiso district, Busiro.

Buddu have three Masaza Cup titles under their belt, 2016, 2021 and 2024.

Two second half goals from captain Marvin Kavuma and Bruno Bunyaga broke the resilience of Buwekula in an epic clash.

Following a goalless first stanza, Buddu returned stronger from recess to score through captain Marvin Kavuma and Bruno Bunyaga in a finale graced by the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

3. Buddu 1-0 Kyaggwe – 2024

Buddu emerged victorious in a thrilling Masaza Cup final, securing their third title after beating Kyaggwe 1-0 at a fully packed Namboole Stadium.

Mike Walaga’s powerful header in the 22nd minute as Buddu cemented their reputation as one of the tournament’s strongest teams.

Having previously won the competition in 2016 and 2021. They joined Mawokota and Bulemeezi who have also won trophy three times.

in the same season Buddu goalkeeper Marvin Ssebirago Ssali was named as the best custodian in the event. Ssebirago also made a crucial save in the final to secure a third Masaza Cup crown for Buddu.
